I confess, poppys are pretty expensive… so don’t fall in love with these bouquets like I already have. Unless they’re in season, poppys can cost you an arm and a leg. I’ve been doing some digging, and all I’ve found out so far is that purple poppys are “in season” in the fall… September and October in particular.
Do you know anything about poppys? What’s in season when? Love or hate these bouquets?

These are actually anemones, and they’re in season November – May. And I love them
I came across another picture of these white ones and learned that they were anemonies… those are the ones you’re talking about? I found the red bouquet doing a poppy search
why not grow them yourself? you can grow them in pots indoors near windows or else in a garden or a friend’s garden if you can find the space. then you can enjoy them for longer and some varieties are perennials so they’ll grow back every year, a nice annual keepsake from your wedding. and if you’re only planning on marrying in 2012 or later, you could start them for 2011 and see how it turns out so you know what to expect. we’re growing all the flowers for our wedding in september!
That is SUCH a fantastic idea! Maybe when (hopefully “when” not “if”) we get the house, I can do this! THANKS!
These are perfect…too late I’m in love with them…and the idea to grow them yourself to save money is wonderful!! I’m getting started ASAP..I found my bouquets!
