#9: Mason jars = your new bff

Really, they will be.

If you’re a DIY bride on a tight budget, here are some awesome ideas to turn cheap ol’ mason jars into gorgeous accents for your Big Day!

I’m aware there won’t be a mailbox at your wedding, but you could hang these from trees, the ceiling, the rafters of a tent… the sky is the limit (no pun intended).  These were done by wrapping wire around the mouth of the jar and simply affixing it to a chain… wire and chain from your local hardware store (super cheap) and the jar shouldn’t cost more than a dollar or two (at most) – you’re probably looking at $3-5 for the entire piece (not including flowers).  Keep in mind that the wire and chain will need to be strong, as you’ll have water in the jar.

Hint: plop a votive or a tealite in each jar, and you’ll have a gorgeous little lantern!

Play with this idea a bit – water & floating candles, water with pebbles and floating candles, flowers, candles, sand with a votive – the sky is the limit.

An inexpensive alternative to fancy-schmancy vases.

What a cute idea for your guest’s utencils!  May be a bit backyard-BBQ, but if that’s the style of your wedding, this would be perfect!  Replace bandannas with cloth or paper napkins, or even with cool fabric from the remnants section of the fabric store!

And, lastly, a mason jar inspiration board from style me pretty.
