#155: Dishing for Dana

I bet your bottom dollar that if you ask 100 budget wedding bloggers who their inspiration is, you’ll get a resounding

The Broke-Ass Bride

from at least 98 of them.

Seriously. Go ahead, ask 100 of us.

Meet Dana.  Otherwise known as the Broke-Ass Bride.  She’s adorable, right?  Anyway.  I’ve never met Dana in person, but I read her blog, follow her tweets and have had the pleasure to interact with her via Twitter a few times.  She’s witty, charming, inspiring (love me some fellow broke-asses), and she’s a damn good writer.

Dana needs help. You can read her full story and find details here, but for now, here’s the gist:

  • Dana has Uveitis – it’s an autoimmune disease that attacks her eyes, and it will render her blind if left untreated
  • She also has Granuloma Annulare, which causes inflammation in her foot and it’s so rare that she hasn’t been able to find a doctor to treat her
  • She’s had 11 (yes, eleven) surgeries over the past five years to control both diseases and their side-effects and symptoms

Dana and Co. are collecting comfort food recipes to dole out, in return for donations to help defray Dana’s rising medical costs.

What Dana needs.
Dana’s goals are as follows:

You can donate here… and please do.  I don’t know about you, but I love jumping on the opportunity to help out a fellow blogger in need — and frankly, who better than Dana? Her blog has inspired thousands!
