PeachBride here! :)   I am so grateful to Nicole for asking to feature our wedding on her blog.  Thanks so much Nicole!  You are the coolest! (oh and PS, you’re welcome, Peach! LOVE YOU!)

We got married in the beautiful St. Clement church in Lincoln Park.  Think marble, paintings and stain glass everywhere.  We had the best priest ever, Father Manny.  His homily was nothing like I’ve ever heard before at a Catholic wedding ceremony.  It actually involved us and our love!  Our cocktail hour and reception was held at the Hard Rock Hotel which just so happens to be one of my favorite buildings in Chicago.

I thought I’d let you guys in on some of the deals that I found along the way.  First of all, getting married in March in Chicago is considered off season.  Way off season.  We got the hotel to go down 1,000 below their minimum.  I know, not a big deal but they did realize about a week into our wedding that we were paying the same for both chicken and beef plates but they still honored it because it’s what we were promised.  Um, yay!

Our flower girl was wearing an Easter dress from Target that I got on sale for 16.99 a year before the wedding.  We managed to score an awesome 50% off black Friday deal on our navy overlays from linentablecloth.com.  Thanks to the lovely Groupon, we were able to get 50% off on a photobooth as well!  Dream.come.true!!!

Since we were having a wedding that wasn’t so formal, we wanted our boys to wear suits.  After finding that we couldn’t rent suits for the guys, the best man suggested JC Penney.  I will be honest: At first I was like hell no.  No one in my wedding will be wearing suits from JC Penney in my wedding!  Well, of course we found the perfect grey suit for the boys there for 100 dollars each because they were on sale.  Score!  I’m not a big fan of favors that just collect dust, so early on Richard and I decided to go to my parent’s next door neighbor who owns Oak Park Bakery in Oak Park, IL.  He makes Cubs cookies so we asked him to make us some as well as some Detroit ones.  We ordered 100 of each and paid $130.  Now that’s just something to be proud of.

Working at a library also worked in my favor.  Who knew?  If you are planning on using books in your centerpieces, check to see if your local library has a book sale.  Most libraries will charge you just a dollar for hardcover books.

Well folks, he put a ring on it.  Mr. Man finally ponied up and did it!

That lying sack of potatoes, he’s been throwing me off for WEEKS…  Between the “I need to wait for a couple more paychecks” and the “We’ll sees” he had me pretty confused.

Well, my little sister came into town for the weekend… to supposedly spend Easter with us.  Or so I thought.  Silly me.

So, since ALL of you are asking how it went down, here goes…
